When I first rolled her out of the crazy guy's driveway. Ahh, memories.
Specs:
1985 Toyota Corolla GT-S coupe (AE86)
112hp (when it was new) 4AGEC DOHC inline 4cyl
Sport Interior
Sunroof
No LSD
117k miles
Modifications:
Complete head rebuild
Metal Radiator
Solex Locks
Autolock Brake Lock
Toyo RA1's on the front
BF Goodrich el-cheapo drift tires in the back
Completely replaced interior
In other words: stock.
The story of how I got her for free. Yes, $Free.99
-Crazy self-employed psychologist with a stripper for a daughter buys AE86 in 1985
-Said psychologist drives it for 116k miles until the radiator blows a hole
-same psychologist drives it until it seizes, and parks it in the garage
-says F*ck it and leave it there for 10 years
-My uncle moves in across the street from him, and he wants to get rid of it.
-Uncle knows i'm obsessed with AE86's and tells crazy guy he'll give me a call.
-I get said call and w00t all over the place
-I roll out the car out of his garage for free.
So basically $2000 later, I am finally the owner of my very own drivable, smogged, registered, insured, and rev-tastic AE86.
It's definitely a project in the making. I still need to replace the alternator, brake pads, brake lines, shocks, springs, tires, rims, paint , you name it and I have it planned for this car. It's currently my stay-at-home fun car, and will be my weekend, rev the piss out of, autocross/touge/drift car later on. There's no LSD, so I can't really drift it (I tried, it's not pretty) but it's plenty fun as it is.
it's got character, which I love in my cars, and hopefully it'll be touge spec soon enough to run with the rest of you guys.
