Get some Bilstein or Koni dampers, you will notice a huge difference in how your car handles. Personally I'd go with Bilsteins as they adjust themselves to road conditions so you never have to worry about changing the valving. Coil overs are nice if you'd like to tweak your ride height and handling specs. It really depends on what you plan to do with your car.

Bilstein will always have a place in my heart...they are awesome! But expensive.
I say get some coilovers. If you get tein, then OMG u got tein. Megan, Ksport, D2 etc are all from the same manufacture just different specs defined by the company.
I would get coilovers for the corner balancing, not to mention the spring rate and valving is already matched. Its hard to buy shocks & spring and match without spending too much money trying different combos.
A problem will coilovers is you always tend to lower too much, this causes alignment issues. To fix if you will need camber kits, and new tie rods. I dunno about roll center on this car, but I'm sure it will f**k it up and you'll need something to fix it. I just dunno anyone who makes RCAs for the tc.

I'd also say, Big swaybars with polyurethane bushings is a MUST, too

What are you using the car for? Serious touge runs, or is it more of a daily driver? The shocks and springs you choose are gonna make a big difference. I know most people like their ride bone jarringly stiff, but I'm pretty sure with a little math and a little research, you can keep close to stock ride comfort (or even better!) without spending a ton of money. Also, read this: www.sportcompactcarweb.com/tech/0506scc_handling_cornering/index.html

And does Tein even supply Scions? I can't find it on their site...all they have is Toyota and the tC isn't there. =[ ;D if you wanna be baller status you can get KWs ahaha or Motons =P I'd go with TRD tho since they're factory backed.

so here is what i am thinking. shannon said that he can get me coilovers for pretty reasonable. and i think im gonna go with TRD Shocks, TRD strut bars, and TRD sway bars. that way i still get the warranty for some of it. Then new tires and smaller rims. any boos or rejections?

Go with quality and not cheep price. You will kick your self later if you go on the cheep. also what are you plans with the car?

I'd say go wiiiiide as possible, more rubber=more grip it also=more rolling resistance + weight but I dont think on a street car you're gonna feel the diff greater than having more tire

15>16>17 my wheels and tires weigh 28lbs total compared to 33 stock and the 185 R's are 1000000000000000x better than a 205 street tire read this (like actually read it cause the pictures suck) www.wam.umd.edu/~greghess/sizematters.pdfI'd bet that anything TRD is just rebadged and marked up versions of other companies

That was a great article!
I need to weigh my wheels, the tires Kumho Ecstas 255s(17s)/295s(18s) are 25lbs/30lbs
Compare that to roughly 79lbs each stock lol, go stock steel 16s with 31"X10.5" BFG All-Terrains! I actually used to corner decently hard on those until their sidewalls would roll lol, they gripped ok haha
I want to see different widths and tire types though :/

It's typically hard to find a good tire for 16's, 'cause most of the ones that do exist are either slicks or all-season crapfests. it's hard to take your post seriously when you haven't changed the subtext under your name Dude, I look like a girl. It's hard to take me seriously anyways. PS: What the hell does that subtext mean, besides declaring that you decided to come out of the closet?

actually there are good tires in 16s... alot of top national SCCA STS civic hatchbacks are going to 16 inch rims because azenis now come in 215/45/16
with alot of success
but i think on a tc she can prolly fit a 225/50 16 on there which azenis also do come in
plenty of grip for the street and track/autox
